Lighting for horses

Agrilight® sets itself apart with its expertise in the field of lighting technology and in the specific application of light for various types of livestock. We are regularly asked what is the most suitable light regime for healthy, productive livestock. It is important that you should know that when we give advice about a light regime, we always base the advice on the following factors: scientific basis, durability, animal welfare and practical experience.

Light improves animal welfare. It is also known that the length of the day has a positive effect on fertility, which is seasonal. The correct light intensity also contributes to the health of the animals and this makes them more energetic so the proverbial winter dip is prevented.

In addition, the correct lighting level (150 - 300 lux) and regime (16 hours of light followed by 8 hours of darkness) ensures that horses grow a thinner winter coat. This makes a lot of difference to maintenance time and means you can put your horse in the dry sooner.

In indoor riding arenas it is particularly important to have uniform lighting and the Agrilight® lights are excellent for achieving this because a lot of effort has been put into preventing shadows.

Agrilight® has developed the following products for use in horse boxes and indoor riding arenas:
AL2007
Agribox

These products have proven themselves in practise for keeping horses in a variety of different projects. We will be happy to show you a few interesting examples of stable lighting for horses.
